he Confederation of African Football (CAF) have saluted the Flying Eagles of Nigeria following their victory over Tunisia to win the Bronze Medal at the 2023 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
The Flying Eagles walloped Tunisia 4-0 on Friday March 8 at the Cairo International Stadium.
Ibrahim Muhammad scored the first goal of the game in the eighth minute and Ahmed Abdullahi made it 2-0 in the 46th minute.
Jude Sunday scored a brace to seal the victory for the Nigerian team.
This is Nigeria’s third time of winning the bronze medal at the tournament.
CAF hailed the Nigerian U-20 team on Twitter.
“NIGERIA ACHIEVE A PODIUM FINISH The Flying Eagles are the #TotakEnergiesAFCONU20 bronze medalists for the third time,” the Tweet reads
The final will be between Senegal and Gambia on Saturday March 9 at the Cairo International Stadium.
All four semi-finalists qualified for the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup which will take place in Indonesia between May 20 and June 11.
